SOR - Siun Owode Road
About this project
This project involved the comprehensive full-depth reconstruction of a 6km arterial corridor, expanded to an 8m-wide heavy-duty carriageway engineered to address severe terrain challenges, manage high-volume stormwater runoff, and ensure long-term structural stability. The core of the facility features a 6.0km alignment with an 8.0m wide asphalt concrete surface, optimized for heavy axle loads and improved traffic flow. To ensure uninterrupted natural cross-drainage beneath the high-load carriageway and protect the road sub-base, comprehensive structural concrete works—including reinforced concrete box culverts—were executed along the corridor.Ground stabilization and slope security were reinforced by specialized slope protection systems at high-embankment sections, vital for mitigating soil erosion and preventing landslides. Internal runoff and water ingress were managed by a comprehensive longitudinal drainage network integrated with engineered outfalls built along the project alignment, specifically designed to handle high-volume runoff while maintaining structural integrity.
